Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actor. She sings as well. Sara Ramirez was brought up by an American mother, and encountered a number of racial slurs, which made her feel unwelcome. After she participated in a school competition and received high praise for her singing at the age of 9, the girl began to gain confidence. It not only boosted the confidence of her, but altered the direction of her career. At the age of 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. When she was 23, she made her debut on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. The character in The Lad of The Lake became her biggest breakthrough, bringing an award for her performance, an award called the Tony Award in addition to the acclaim of critics for her role. Later in the same year she appeared on the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. Known as a singer she also released a single and an extended show. She is an activist who strives for LGBT equality.
